The Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) is a USA-based charity that provides medical care to children in the Middle East and supports medical infrastructure and capacity building with operations in (West Bank and UKRAINE AND GAZA), Jordan, and Lebanon. The PCRF has been providing services for more than 30 years and has grown to be one of the largest and well-known provider of medical care to children in with international global support.
Position Overview:
The Assistant to the Director of Chapter Operations plays an important support role in fundraising, our chapters, and volunteers. This position assists the Director of Chapter Operations to build, support, and manage volunteer chapters, working with volunteers, PCRF staff, and other community organizations to help meet our goal in building a respected, professional and hard-working grassroots organization. This is a USA-based position.
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Basic Financial knowledge is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of computers and basic business software including Word, Spreadsheets, Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in using Google Docs/Sheets
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, verbal, research and project management skills
- Highly organized, driven, and professional.
- Strong ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to function with a high degree of initiative, handle and discern the importance and urgency of multiple high-priority tasks concurrently.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate and work collaboratively with chapter members and all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to work with confidential information.
- Ability to handle constructive criticism and changing directives.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work on a consistent basis.
- A proactive attitude and a sense of urgency with a capacity for creative problem-solving.
- Ability to develop new procedures and apply new technologies as needed.
- 3-5 years of experience, non-profit preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with event planning and volunteer management.
- Basic understanding of budgets, tracking expenses and revenue.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Collecting quarter and annual reports from chapters.
- Setting up and organizing quarterly calls with chapter leaders and PCRF staff.
- Attend chapter events to help support volunteers;
- Organize logistics for event volunteers;
- Writing press releases for events and patients treated through chapter volunteers.
- Identifying media outlets and networks to promote the PCRF’s mission
- Supporting the building of student clubs in schools and universities.
- Collect and organize chapter event expense/budget forms.
- Monitor and ensure that chapters operate as nonpolitical and nonreligious, with democratic values and are open to all volunteers who want to help and share these values.
- Using project management tools to ensure that chapter efforts are managed and supported, as per the PCRF’s policies.
- Ensure that chapter members follow best practices for event planning, execution and reporting to ensure compliance with PCRF policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain systems to manage chapter members and activity and facilitate communication between chapters and PCRF staff.
- Create and help support chapter social media pages and keep content relevant to their patients and activities.
- Help maintain open communication with all chapter members to allow for open and honest feedback regarding chapter management.
- Identify vendors, organize and order materials for chapter needs.
Assist in Establishing Chapters:
- Guide and direct new chapters based on the PCRF Standard Operating Procedures;
- Train chapter members in systems, the use of Social Media and remain current with changes to PCRF policies and procedures.
- Candidates must be available some evenings and weekends for work, events, calls, assignments, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Chapters Operations.
Location:
- This position is based in the U.S.
- Preference will be given to candidates based in the Chicagoland area
- This position is mostly remote, with regular in-person meetings
